How Does it Work?

It's a really simple process...

We will contact you with details on how to pay your 25% deposit.

You will then receive a booking confirmation email once the deposit has been paid. Please note bookings within six weeks of departure need to be paid in full.

You have booked your VW Campervan!

We will contact you six weeks prior to departure for the remaining balance.


You will need to have a full UK driving licence and held it for at least two years. 

Yes, the minimum length of hire is three nights. 

Yes, the campervan has five belted seats including the drivers seat. The campervan itself sleeps four and the driveway awning can sleep up to two due to its internal bedroom pod. 

Alternatively you could pitch your own tent next to the campervan. Please feel free to contact us to discuss different options. 

We are dog owners and understand that they are part of the family. We do allow small/medium sized, well behaved dogs in the campervan, however there is an additional £30 charge for cleaning. We ask that all dogs are kept off the seats and beds and we advise you bring a suitable bed for the dog to sleep in.

Yes. As long as you are between 25 and 70, with a clean driving licence, which has been held for over two years.

Pick up and Return:

Pick up is between 12:30pm and 2:00pm, please allow 1 hour for handover.

Return of the campervan must be between 12:30pm and 2:00pm on the return date. You will be charged for late return.

➢ 1-2 Hours –  £50 plus any additional insurance charges.

➢ Over 2 hours –  daily rental fee plus any additional insurance charges.

Note: It is really important if you are running late you inform First Light Campers ASAP

Please allow one hour to complete the handover process which includes documentation checks and full tour of the campervan with instructions on how to operate its features.


We provide UK roadside assistance as part of the rental agreement, which you can use 24/7 providing peace of mind.

There are no restrictions on where you can go in the UK. However, due to the insurance policy the camper will need to be pitched in a registered UK campsite over night. The campervan must not be taken on unsurfaced roads or on roads unsuitable for the vehicle. Please see our terms and conditions for further details.

Smoking is not permitted in our campers, this also includes vaping. 

We ask for a 25% deposit at the time of booking (if it is six weeks before the planned hire). The balance is due six weeks before the collection date. 

A security deposit is due to be paid on collection of the camper.  The security deposit is usually refunded within 48 hours, after the return of the camper, if no damage has been caused.  The security deposit is £500.00 regardless of the period of hire.

Prior to the collection, you will need to provide your driving licence number, so that we can complete an online licence check.

On the day of collection, we will also take copies of your photo card driving licence and two forms of proof of address. These can be utility bills, TV/Internet bill, Bank or Credit Card Statement, Mortgage Statement, or Council Tax bill. These must be dated within 90 days of the hire.

For cancellations up to 6 weeks before the rental date, the non-refundable deposit will be retained. 


A refund of 50% will be given if cancelled within 6 weeks of rental date. We advise all hirers to take out their own holiday insurance to cover any eventualities. There will be no refund in the event of early return e.g. illness, accident.


Cancellations less than 7 days before the rental period commences – 100% of the total hire charges will be retained. However, if we do manage to get another booking for the same van, for the same rental period we will waive the cancellation fee but not the booking deposit.

Booking dates can be changed up to six weeks before the hire period commences. A new hire period can be selected on one occasion only.

Yes, you can leave your car at our premises providing it is suitably insured to do so. 

On collection, we will agree the fuel level with you, we have a full tank to full tank policy. You need to return the van refilled to that same level at the end of the hire.
